Several: Excessive hair growth, medically called hypertrichosis, can be caused by several conditions. It is a normal trait in certain ethnicities. Another disease, porphyria cutanea tarda may cause increased hair growth and blisters/sun sensitivity. Even rarer, an androgen secreting tumor may cause increased facial and body hair. Certain medications may also cause this to occur.

Excessive hair: Excessive hair could be " cultural" or familial. It could be due to high androgen levels from adrenal gland disorders like hyperplasia or tumor. It could also be due to testicular tumors.
