Is pemphigus associated with cancer?

Cancer risks: There are three types of pemphigus, 1) vulgaris that affects oral and other mucous membranes as well as the skin, 2) foliaceus that usually effects skin only and 3) paraneoplastic pemphagus that occurs in association with cancer; typically a lymphoma. Not all lymphomas have pemphigus reactions and not all pemphigus has an associated cancer.

Pemphigus : Paraneoplastic pemphigus. This is a rare type of pemphigus. Special tests may be needed to diagnose it. It occurs in people with some types of cancer and can lead to: painful mouth and lip sores cuts and scars on the lining of the eyes and eyelids skin blisters severe lung problems.
