A better answer is: The MRI can be negative or it can be positive. Sometimes they have to do a very detailed MRI to find the possible seizure focus. Don't get an open mri. You need a 3t MRI if possible on a 32 channel head coil. There are few units like this but they are super high quality. Your doctor might not even know this. Also you want a pre and post contrast study.
