Recovery: It varies and depends on technique - but usually about 2 weeks. Severe pain usually is much decreased after 3-7 days. Minimal pain, such as when yawning can persist up to 4 weeks. After tonsillectomy one should usually stay out of school or work for 1-2 weeks and no strenuous activity for 2-3 weeks.
