What happens to your complete blood count (cbc) in african sleeping sickness?

The tse-tse: Fly transmits a parasite called a trypanosome in african sleeping sickness...People feel sleepy (ergo the name), have fevers and swolln lmph nodes. While the organisms may be seen in the blood, the blood count is not affected.
