Not likely: Dry mouth is not a documented side effect of iron supplementation. Most people do not need extra iron unless prescribed by a physician. Is your doctor telling you to take iron?

Probably not: I know that taking iron can sometimes cause a change in the way you taste food. But i personally have never had a patient that claimed to have this problem from taking on.
