How long should local anesthetic in the hand last?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A few hours: The common local anesthetics used to numb up hands should last for a number of hours. Occasionally, I have done nerve blocks for surgery with large volumes of local anesthetic that have lasted for 18 to 24 hours.
