A member asked:

How long will the local anesthetic last after acl reconstruction?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Different local anesthetics last for different periods of time. Depending on the local anesthetic, it can last from 1 to 18 hours. This also depends on if you receive a regional nerve block and if a catheter (tube) is placed to continuously dose local anesthetic to the nerve. Femoral nerve blocks are commonly used for acl repairs.
