Depends: Possibly a tendinitis or neuritis depending on where exactly you hurt.

Tendonitis?: Anatomically speaking, tendons run the course from toes to the top of the ankle, so do nerves. Hence, i would first think of a tendonitis or a nerve issue. If you describe the pain as shooting or electrical i would think nerves, if it was more soreness i woud think tendonitis. Some more info is required for a diagnosis.
