A member asked:

What should healing stoma tissues look like?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Red/pink and shiny!: Ostomies are when the bowel/bladder are brought to the skin, and they should look like your normal insides, reddish pink and shiny. Sores or ulcers, dark colors, black and yellow spots are concerning and should be evaluated by someone experienced in looking at them like an ostomy nurse or your surgeon.
