Retest in 1-2 weeks: An RDW of 14.6 suggests that you have a mix of large and small red blood cells. This is common in iron deficiency anemia. "bands" are "baby" neutrophils, suggesting some kind of acute stress on your body (infection or otherwise). Heavy alcohol use can prevent your red cells from using both iron and b12, leading to a mixed anemia over time. I suggest retesting in a few weeks without alcohol use.

Neither significant: Red cell width score of 14.6 is just at the upper limit of normal and two bands are within normal range.
