My husband had his left testi split in an accident in his teen yrs. they did an ultra sound and said it was fine but could this effect his fertility?

Possible, unlikely: A man is usually fertile with a single testicle thus even if the left does not work, he should still be ok. He could have poor sperm quality independent of the past trauma. You may want to get a semen analysis to get reassurance.

SA: Yes it's posssible, but not at all certain. A semen analysis is the correct and only way to find out. He is also tehoretically at risk for developing anti-sperm abtibodies. If ttc or just curious he can do a test anytime, if not it can be put off indefinately until you need to know.
