What are the differences between a ecg (ekg) strip recorder and a cardiac monitor?

Not much: In general, they all assess the electrical activity of the heart. They differ in the number of leads they have and in the circumstances one would use them. The higher the number of leads the better the assessment of the electrical system and clues to the anatomy of the heart.
