Or it can be cosmetic. It is surgery of the face and jaws. It can be done to correct congenital disproportion of the upper and lower jaws with malalignment of the teeth or for bony facial injuries: this would be reconstructive. It can also be cosmetic, as in surgical treatment of long face syndrome.
