Need to see it: Common cysts of the scalp are easily felt as freely-movable, smooth-surfaced masses and may be kept or excised as seems best to you, with your physician's approval. An old bump can leave a harmless fibrous scar where the bruise was. A cancer here is uncommon, but a new mass or ulcer that is growing anywhere is worrisome.
