A member asked:

When does an elevated heart rate become dangerous? how high or long?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

High heart rate: Mostly it depends on symptoms associated with the heart rate, so if the rate is 120 beats per minute and the patient has shortness of breath or chest pain associated with it, then it is too high. However, if you are active and exercise regularly then your heart can tolerate a higher heart rate for a longer period of time.
