A member asked:

What is the bacterial growth pattern of proteus mirabilis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Spreader: This motile bacteria will spread out across the surface of an agar plate and often obliterate the growth of other organisms which may be present. It ferments lactose and produces urease, releasing ammonia which make the area alkaline. If this happens in the urine due to infection it can result in kidney stones.
