Bracing: Usually an mcl can be treated with a hinged knee brace and time. Occasionally surgery is required for severe tears and often times other injuries are associated with an mcl tear that may require surgical intervention.

Physical therapy.: Most MCL tears will heal on their own. They may require a brief period of immobilization, then physical therapy can begin. See a sports medicine orthopedic knee surgeon, to see if you can be treated in this manner.
