Scope: Arthroscopy is a less invasive view of internal knee and scar or tears which can be corrected, removed or shaved. For mcl tear, the ligament, may be cleaned, debrided, and repaired.

Arthroscopy.: Usually with arthroscopic surgery. sometimes an open incision has to be made, if the scar tissue cannot be removed arthroscopically.
