Pillow: Often, a shoulder arthroscopy produces strain on the rotator cuff muscles that need time to recover. The rotator cuff is stretched when you sleep on the shoulder and allow the arm to cross your body. By placing a pillow between you arm and body, the muscles are relaxed and rested.

Reclining chair: People are generally most comfortable sleeping in a reclining chair for 2-3 weeks after shoulder surgery. Icing the shoulder and ice machines are very beneficial as well.
