Follow instructions: Different procedures will require different rehab protocols so discuss this in detail with your surgeon. In general, use a lot of ice, don't overdo the activity, follow your doctor's and physical therapist's instructions, and call if you have any questions. You will usually be in a sing for a few weeks. Also, if given the choice, have the anesthesiologist perform a regional anesthetic nerve block.
