Will vary: Start therapy at home or with a pt. Discuss next steps with your doctor. Iit will take time for soreness and stiffness to resolve. If you are immobilized for 6 weeks, it will take an addition 12 weeks to feel like you have recovered. This is not hard and fast, but is a simple guide. There are may factors that play into your recovery. Dr l.

Weakness: Upon first removal of the cast you will have muscle weakness, and instability. After normal walking or pt you will build up your leg strength within a few weeks. You will also be asked to perform range of motion exercises with your ankle.
