A member asked:

Is it possible to sensitive yourself to metal allergy using your prosthetic limb?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nickel allergy: Contact dermatitis to metals that contain nickel or cobalt can develop at any time. Any item that contacts your skin directly and contains nickel can 'sensitize" your immune system to nickel and the result is rash at the site where your skin contacts nickel in the future.
