A physical therapist: A physical therapist serves a crucial function by educating the patient along with the prescribing physician on how best to monitor for tolerance and fit of the prosthesis, assess any joint or functional limitations that may require additional therapy and most importantly will provide for mobility and gait training as you acclimate to prosthetic use. Equipment needs will also be assessed.
