About 6 weeks: After the amputation is healed a prosthetic leg is usually fabricated in 6-8 weeks. Every prosthetic is custom and several fittings are required before the final product is received.

Husband is an AK amputee. Has little tissue over end of bone. A blister formed from the prosthetic. Can see the bone thru open wound - not poking out. XRAY neg for infection. Dr. gave ABX. Was advised to shower and wash wound. Is this appropriate?
What is the best diet and exercise to lose weight? I'm an amputee so my mobility is limited. I also take Risperidone that affects weight.
