Yeast overgrowth: Candida is a very common yeast found in the mouth, intestine, vagina, and skin. It can occasionally cause infection such as vaginal yeast infections. Less commonly infections of the mouth (thrush) and esophagus also occur. Candida overgrowth is a diagnosis often given by naturopathic doctors and has very little science or evidence to support it as a true infection or disease.
