Ask your doctor: You need to ask your doctor . Certain splints are used to hold bones in place until swelling goes down and casts can be applied. So no if you have a fracture unless your doctor says okay. Same thing for splints applied after surgery, let your doctor tell you when it can come off. For sprains and strains, splints can be adjusted. Always ask the doctor who put it on you!
