Not long: The length of a surgery is surgeon dependent, some can do a procedure in 10 minutes that takes others 30 minutes. You also did not state what anatomical region this was i.E knee etc. I would say on average it is a 20-30 minute procedure.

Recovery will depend on which joint is operated on and how severe the disease within that joint was. A common indication for synovectomy is rheumatoid arthritis.
