Variable: A synovectomy is a surgical procedure in which the inflammed synovium, or lining of a joint, is removed. This can usually be done arthroscopically. Recovery will depend on which joint is operated on and how severe the disease within that joint was. A common indication for synovectomy is rheumatoid arthritis.

A couple weeks: This is commonly done arthroscopically and takes about 2-3 weeks for the achiness to settle down. The first week you swell a bit but by day 4-5 the swelling starts to go down if you ice a lot and don't over do it.
