My leg will turn when turning a corner but my knee won't and makes a popping noise what could it be?

Popping noise knee: Popping noise in the knee without any pain is of no serious concern as this is due to soft tissues rubbing in the knee, but if there is pain and you have had history of trauma to that knee, than you need to have it checked as that can be due to meniscus injury and you may need a MRI to rule that out.
