Is it unusual to have jaw pain on the side of the swimmers ear? it hurts alot. i have already seen a doctor to get an ear syringe aswell.

No: Often times ear pain is confused with jaw or tooth pain.

No: No that is not unusual, you have a major nerve called the inferior alveolar nerve that runs from the midline of your chin up to your ear where it meets a lot of other nerves. If you have an ear infection it can cause those nerves to hurt and ca extend down the inferior alveolar nerve to your jaw and teeth (on that same side- it would be unusual if you were having jaw pain on the other side).

No it is not: It is not unusual for jaw pain and to radiate to the ear and ear pain radiate down the jaw. It all has to do with the cranial nerve innervation of that anatomical segment.

Yes: The ear and the TMJ (jaw joint) are in very close proximity to each other. Often, ear pain or jaw pain gets referred to the other site. Proper diagnosis of the cause of the pain and treatment will usually eliminate the referred pain.
