What is the correlation between high hba1c 8.19, total cholestrol 130.2, low hdl 31.6, and low ldl c?

Metabolic syndrome: This is caused by Insulin resistance. Lose 20 lbs, eat more protein, less carbohydrates. An a!c of 8 is poor controlled diabetes. This needs to be treated aggressively, to prevent diabetic complications.

DM & Low HDL Bad: Optimal hba1c ~5.0%. Cholesterol is a fat made by every body cell, ldl-c calculated, not measured & often misleading, but promoted because cheaper. Ldl & HDL are lipoproteins, i.e. Protein particles which carry all fats in the water outside cells. Yes, LDL drives disease. Ldl is always in nmol/l, best <700, HDL in µmol/l, best large-hdl >10. See NMR particle test <$100. Cut all sugars, add victoza (liraglutide).

Diabetes Insulin LPL: Patients with diabetes, Insulin resistance and or high triglycerides often have changes in lipoprotein lipase levels, driving the exchange of triglycerides with cholesterol between vldl and LDL and hdl. This creates cholesterol depleted LDL and HDL particles, hence the measure of cholesterol in HDL and LDL is low. In addition small HDL particles are unstable and break apart, hence low levels.
