A member asked:

Anyone knows if the segawa dystonia can show up at the first year of age?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: Segawa syndrome, also known as dopa-responsive dystonia (drd) usually has symptom onset around age 6 but there have been case reports of it occurring in the first year (as well as much later). It is usually described as autosomal dominant with incomplete penetrance and variable expressivity among family members. Autosomal recessive types also exist. Discuss your concerns with your pediatrician.
