Neither: A person's mood is actually thought to be controlled via structures in the brain known as the limbic system. The limbic system is a mid-line structure and is in the middle of the brain, so in a way-it's on both sides. Certain mood related problems may also be related to the temporal lobes of the brain which are on the sides. I have never heard that either one or the other side is most affected.
