How can i prevent diverticulitis?

Fiber: There are many dietary recommendations that have been widely disseminated (things to avoid, etc), but recent studies have found no basis for those recommendations. The one thing that has been shown to prevent a second episode of diverticulitis (once someone has has a first episode) is to take a tablespoon of fiber supplementation (phyllium) daily.

You can't: You can limit diverticulosis with a fiber rich diet. You cannot prevent divertidulitis which is inflammation of your diverticulas. The are some that say avoid nuts and the rest - this is all proven not true.
