Eat Green: Eating plenty of vegetables and fruit is the best way to get the fiber you need - leafy greens, cruciferous vegetables & fruit like apples. Also flaxseed & psyllium are two excellent sources of additional fiber. You can buy ground flaxseed (store it in airtight container in your freezer since it can go rancid if exposed to air) and add a tablespoon to you cereals, salads, yogurts, shakes, anything!

Eating more cooked vegetables: And grains. Bulk laxatives also have fiber, but your best source is from food. Whole foods like fruit and vegetables. Apples have pectin and a lot of fiber. So do root vegetables like beets and carrots. Stay away from gluten (wheat), especially if you're gluten sensitive.
