Depends : A baby can be considered small-for-gestational age if they are smaller than 95% of babies at that gestation. If a baby is term, they would be compared to other babies delivered at term. Also, the chart compares them by weight and height. Babies under about 6 pounds at birth would be considered low weight if they were born at full term.

Depends: Newborns can be classified as small (sga), appropriate (aga), or large (lga) for gestational age. These are determined by graphing their birth weight against their gestational age at birth.
