Avoid night shades: To help joint stiffness, eating an anti-inflammatory diet is key: 9 servings of fruits and veggies (3 cups dark greens, 3 cups the cruciferous veggies and the then the rest). Dark veggies are not so great like eggplant. Add curcumin and glucosamine as well as increase the water intake (0.5oz for each pound you weigh!).
