A member asked:

What is human tumor necrosis factor tnf alpha and why is it so painful?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Does the term: Inflammatory cytokine help? It is not specific to any disease but may be a pathway to appetite loss, it's also called cachexin, and a pathway involved in cellular and organ injury...Including radiation, and possibly a cause of lung injury from xrt. It is not of itself painful.
