YES: Benzodiazepine drugs are used to treat anxiety related conditions. They should not be used for insomnia.

Depends: We each respond differently to habit forming drugs. Some ppl are biochemically more likely to become tolerant, and thus addicted to drugs such as ativan (lorazepam). Ativan (lorazepam) is in the benzodiazepine family - a strongly habit forming drug. Rather than taking it more often, i recommend exploring why you are having insomnia, and address the underlying issues first. Good sleep hygeine and stress reduction may help.
