Depends: We each respond differently to habit forming drugs. Some ppl are biochemically more likely to become tolerant, and thus addicted to drugs such as ativan (lorazepam). Ativan (lorazepam) is in the benzodiazepine family - a strongly habit forming drug. Rather than taking it more often, i recommend exploring why you are having insomnia, and address the underlying issues first. Good sleep hygeine and stress reduction may help.

Ativan (lorazepam): Depends on dose, how often & what the extra dose is for.
