It can ...: Acupuncture has been show to reduce anxiety in some well controlled studies. Ativan is a very commonly used medicine for insomnia - however - there are newer medicines (eg, Belsomra) which target the sleep cycle directly which might be a better option. The other option I have used alone or in combination with other treatments is Rozerem (ramelteon). Hope that helps!
