Discoid lupus: Discoid lupus erythematosus can be a "skin only" form of lupus or the discoid lesions can be a part of more widespread lupus, systemic lupus erythematosus. The discoid lesions are red plaques most commonly found on the face, neck, or scalp. Later, the plaques can form pale scars.
