If you are a 40-year-old vegetarian--should i check for colon cancer?

Not yet.: Colon cancer screening should begin at age 50 unless you have a family history of colon cancer. While we believe colon cancer to be associated with high red meat diets, being a vegetarian should not exclude you from routine screening.

Depends: Colonscopy should begin at fifty unless there are symptoms or famil history.

Yes: Every adult should do that. Yearly occult blood and a 'scope if possible on the protocols that your physician recommends. In spite of all the "pop" claims, vegetarianism does not offer you any real protection from colon cancer -- or any other serious illness. I'm sorry if you were deceived. http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/142427.php
