Rather frequent: Cts is associated with repetitive wrist flexion-extension activities such as assembly line work, computer key board activities, and many diseases such as diabetes and hypothyroidism. Also, can be seen during normal pregnancies. It involves compression of the median nerve at the base of the wrist due to local inflammation or narrowing at the transverse carpal ligament.
