A member asked:

Is it ok for kids to wear watches with luminescent markings? i thought they were radioactive?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes, most are safe: Most children's watch dials now use phosphorescent paint, commonly called "glow-in-the-dark" paint, which emits visible light for a time after light exposure. It is used as an alternative to radio luminescent paint, which does emit small amounts of radiation.
