Usually asymptomatic: Focal nodular hyperplasia is a common non-malignant (non-cancerous) liver condition. They are often found incidentally on imaging or during surgery. Most studies have shown that people with focal nodular hyperplasia usually do not have symptoms. However, a few studies have shown that people with focal nodular hyperplasia can have abdominal discomfort or pain, or have a palpable (able to feel) mas.
