What is the life expectancy for a person with advanced cirrhosis?

Advanced cirrhosis: There is a useful classification of cirrhosis called the 'child-pugh score'. It measures 3 lab test and 2 clinical findings. Based on this, life expectancy can be predicted. "so-called child's c is worse than b or a, ie c is 'advanced' 1 and 2 year survival: grade a - 100 and 85 percent; grade b - 80 and 60 percent; and grade c - 45 and 35 percent. This has nothing to do with hepatitis a, b or c.

Scar/complications: Cirrhosis can be advanced scarring alone or complicated by jaundice, bleeding, ascites (belly fluid), encephalopathy (confusion) or cancer. Complications shorten lifespan considerably. Transplant can save lives.
