A member asked:

What would the life expectancy for advanced cirrhosis of the liver be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends: There are a lot of factors involved. If you or a loved one have been diagnosed, your doctor may be able to give you an estimate, but it is only that and depends on how advanced, what treatments are possible and how the person's body responds to them. It can be upwards of a year in some cases (without transplant or other treatment), or so critical that it can be weeks to months. Ask your doctor.
