A member asked:

How long after exposure to hcv does it take to test + with pcr?

A few days: No one knows for certain. If you shared needles, i know you will be wise enough not to do this again. If you had sex, remember it is difficult to transmit the infection this way. If you had some other kind of exposure, get tested but i would be surprised if it resulted in infection.

At least a month: Hcv incubation period can be anywhere from a month to about five or 6 months. The anti-hcv test is very sensitive and should be able to detect any infection. If that's positive, then pcr can be used to confirm the results.
