What is the possibility of having a positive hcv ab screen but a negative hcv rna pcr test?

5-10%: It is uncommon. I have had several cases. It means a false positive hcv antibody test and if the RNA test is negative, nothing further needs to be done as you do not have hepatitis c infection in that case.

10%: Around 10% of patients with hcv + will have negative PCR viral load. This means either a false positive (confirmed with negative riba) or cleared previous infection.

I had a blood exposure in April 2021. I took a 4th gen HIV test in July, August, September and October. I also took a HIV RNA by PCR test in October. All were negative. Are these considered conclusive or should I retest? I tested neg for HCV too?
